Hello Lodewijk, how did you find out about leverist.de?
“I found out about leverist.de through Google. I was surfing the internet for business opportunities for my nut trading start-up “Nutnose”. We help importers to find high quality nuts from around the globe and I was looking for new partners.”
Did you find them on leverist.de?
“Yes, I read about a business opportunity in the Dominican Republic. The project was searching for dealers, producers and other companies who buy, sell and process macadamia nuts or products derived from them. I immediately got in touch with them.”
What happened after you got in touch through leverist.de?
“The GIZ employee put me in contact with a farm in the Dominican Republic. When I was there on a business trip, I went to visit the farm, saw how the macadamia nuts are produced and got to know the local company. I was very excited about the opportunity, because I got connected to people from halfway across the globe!”
That sounds great, we´re happy to hear it all worked out so well. Where does the partnership stand now?
“We´re still in contact with the local company. So far, we could not start a cooperation due to certificates that we need in order to sell the nuts. The farm does not have these certificates yet, but we are hoping they will have them soon and we can start our collaboration!”
So would you recommend leverist.de to other companies?
“Yes, it was a very nice spirit talking to the GIZ people responsible for the macadamia project. Everyone is there to develop, everyone was excited. I think there really is a business point here for companies – and also a reach that makes it possible to connect to the right people which you would not have found otherwise.”
